CEO of Pelican Products, Lyndon Faulkner, recently returned to Stanford Graduate School of Business to participate in a business review of Pelican Products.
Graduate students were tasked with reviewing and examining a case study detailing an anonymous business, which included behind-the-scenes, direct interviews with top executives on leadership, growth, diversification, expansion and future plans for the business.
Faulkner was invited to a follow-up discussion where students debated the current state of the still unknown business and what the next steps might be to remain profitable and competitive in the marketplace. After approximately 45 minutes of back and forth with the lecturer, he was introduced and the identity of the company revealed.
The conversation then shifted to Pelican’s multiple business units (Commercial/Government, BioThermal and Consumer), its diverse product lines and global success through innovation, geographic expansion and acquisition.
Students displayed a high level of energy and were so inquisitive that conversations continued well after class was dismissed.
