Torrance, CA -
Pelican™ Products, Inc., the global leader in the manufacture of advanced lighting systems and virtually indestructible cases, has appointed retired Marine Corps General Peter Pace as its Chairman of the Board. Pace is the former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, a four-star general and brings more than four decades of military and defense leadership expertise to Pelican’s board.
Pace assumes the Chairman of the Board position at Pelican in a non-executive role and will provide additional strategic oversight to Pelican’s work in the military, defense and federal government sectors. He succeeds Rob Gluskin, a Behrman Capital operating partner, who will continue to serve Pelican as director.
“The military and defense markets are an important strategic focus for Pelican and we are devoted to developing new technologies and products that enable the U.S. and allied militaries to do their jobs better and safer,” said Lyndon Faulkner, President and CEO of Pelican Products. “The addition of General Pace to our board, coupled with our aggressive global expansion plans will make Pelican Products an even more important player in advanced lighting and protector cases for our defense forces in the U.S. and internationally.”
“After more than 40 years of service to my country, it’s difficult to fully disconnect from the calling I so loved and for which I devoted a significant amount of my life and energy,” said Pace. Lyndon Faulkner and the Pelican team have given me the opportunity to utilize my military experience with a company whose products are critical to the work of our Armed Forces and those of foreign allies. I am excited to join the Pelican team and help build on their work in the military sector and identify new, cutting-edge products and technologies that will equip the next-generation soldier.”
Since its inception more than 30 years ago, Pelican Products has developed relationships at various levels of the U.S. Armed Forces and with allied foreign militaries, and has built a reputation for developing the highest quality, military-grade protector cases, flashlights and lighting systems in the world. Additionally, Pelican has worked closely with militaries around the world to develop new products that are specifically designed within advanced specifications to enable servicemen and women to more effectively protect their countries and their lives. Currently, military personnel across the globe are using Pelican Protector™ Cases and flashlights that are built to handle the extreme conditions in which soldiers use them.
