PELICAN
FILES ACTION AGAINST FOREIGN INFRINGEMENT OF CASE DESIGN
TORRANCE,
CALIFORNIA Pelican Products, Inc., the Torrance, California maker
of high quality flashlights and protective equipment cases served an infringement
action against Skywise Industrial, Ltd. of Hong Kong today at the AAPEX
automotive trade show in Las Vegas. Skywise is the manufacturer and exporter
of injection molded cases which Pelican alleges infringe on one or more
of Pelicans trademark registrations including its design registration.
We
had an opportunity to serve Skywise on U.S. soil. Pelican has spent 27
years building a brand and investing in trademark and patent protection,
said Rick Kern, Pelicans CFO. We continue to take the protection
of our trade mark and trade dress registrations very seriously.
Skywise is
in discussions with Pelican to change or destroy its offending tooling.
(Case #LACV03-7812).
