PELICANS
INFRINGEMENT ACTION AGAINST ELECTROSOURCE (aka PELICAN ACCESSORIES) MOVES
FORWARD
TORRANCE,
CALIFORNIA Pelican Products, Inc., the Torrance, California maker
of high quality flashlights and protective equipment cases announced today
that it continues to move forward in its action against ElectroSource,
LLC of Vernon, CA. ElectroSource began using the name Pelican Accessories
on its video game accessory products including hard and soft carrying
cases, lights, battery rechargers and AC adapters among other items in
about 1998. Pelican has owned trademark registrations covering its valued
Pelican house mark on various products including cases since
1978.
In August
of 2001 Federal Court Judge, Nora Manella, imposed a preliminary injunction
barring ElectroSource from selling hard cases under the Pelican
name. The matter has not yet gone to trial.
It
is always easier when you are dealing with reasonable people, said
Dave Parker, Pelicans President/CEO and founder. Either way,
we will defend our house mark in this action.
