TORRANCE, CA – May 10, 2004 — Pelican Products, a leading manufacturer of technically advanced flashlights and watertight protective cases, seeks to differentiate its company name from a video game peripheral company that was recently featured in a prominent adult men’s magazine under a very similar name.

“In this day and age, our customer relationships are of paramount concern and we must be vigilant about where our brand name is featured,” said Rick Kern, Chief Financial Officer, Pelican Products, Inc. “Our Pelican brand image is associated with quality and dependability across the globe, but we would lose that very quickly if we were to allow unaffiliated companies to use our name.”

The company in question is Pelican, formerly Pelican Accessories, a division of ElectroSource, LLC, an after-market, videogame peripheral manufacturer, based in Vernon, CA, that sells, among other things, soft carrying cases and flashlight products.
