PELICAN AWARDED JUDGMENT IN INFRINGEMENT CASE AGAINST CHINESE MANUFACTURER

TORRANCE, CALIFORNIA – Pelican Products, Inc., the Torrance, California maker of high quality flashlights and protective equipment cases won a judgment today in U.S. Federal Court (Case #LACV03-7812) against Skywise Industrial, Ltd. of Hong Kong. Skywise had manufactured and exported two models of injection molded cases which infringed one or more of Pelican’s trademark registrations including its design registration. The judgment also orders Skywise to recall and destroy any of the offending products.

“We are very pleased with this ruling. Pelican wants to send a clear message that we will not tolerate the copying of our designs,” said Rick Kern, Pelican’s CFO.
