David H. Parker and his wife Arline founded Pelican Products, Inc. in 1976 as a part time mail order business, selling dive buoys out of their Torrance, California garage. From its humble beginnings, the company has steadily grown its product lines and developed into a thriving, American manufacturer with over 500 employees worldwide and distribution centers in Barcelona, Spain - Edmonton, Canada - Tokyo, Japan and Adelaide, Australia. For over 20 years their extensive lines of technically advanced, safety approved, flashlights and high-impact, watertight, equipment Protector™ Cases have stood as the gold standard around the world. Pelican’s winning sales-oriented philosophy is often imitated but never equaled and is illustrated by their Legendary Lifetime Guarantee of Excellence “You break it, we replace it…forever”™.
Airing Tuesdays at 9:00 PM on the Travel Channel (check local channel guides for availability), John Ratzenberger’s Made in America celebrates the people, places and products that are uniquely American.
