Pelican Sponsors Defender Service Awards

For the 2nd year running, Pelican Products, Inc. partnered with Land Rover to sponsor the Land Rover Defender Service Award for Search and Rescue. Pelican cases are trusted by Search and Rescue teams worldwide to protect valuable equipment for critical missions.

The Land Rover Defender Service Awards recognize charitable organizations making an impact within their respective local communities. The five categories are Search and Rescue, Environmental & Conservation, Veterans Outreach, Community Service, and Animal Welfare.

Entrants can nominate an organization or themselves via video submission explaining their mission, how they impact the community, and how a new Defender will support their work. A panel of qualified judges select five finalists for each category. The winning finalists are selected via public vote.

The winner of the Pelican Service Award was the Squamish Search & Rescue team, a volunteer community-based organization that provides 24/7 SAR services across BC, Canada.

Squamish Search & Rescue was founded in 1975 and currently has over 80 members who specialize in technical and emergency medical skills. The team is highly trained to reach, treat, and extricate injured, distressed, or lost people from the British Columbia’s backcountry.

Squamish Search & Rescue received a Land Rover Defender 130 P300 S and $25,000 donation and an assortment of Pelican gear to support their mission. The Land Rover Defender and the Pelican products will be essential tools to help the Squamish team respond to emergencies in remote locations.
