Mike Pfeiffer
Outdoor Adventure
I’m actually known for being a pretty regular dude, though one who has made preparedness a big aspect of my life. I strive to live an adventurous, fulfilling life, while giving back to others (typically via informative videos on YouTube). I strongly believe in leaving the planet better than I found it, and doing the same for all the people I meet along the way.
I grew up as an Army brat, moving every couple of years to a new destination, but have been in Colorado now for the bulk of my adult life. I try to spend as much time out in my rigs, camping in the backcountry with my girl Ashley and two dogs. All the while, I’m also working to develop my land/home into a homestead and live a more self-sufficient life.
What motivates you in the morning?
I don’t want to look back at my life and regret not doing more.
What is your mantra for when things are tough?
Hard times make strong men.
If you could do anything else, what would it be and why?
Honestly probably something loosely related with what I’m already doing – something in the outdoor industry.
Describe your best moment ever.
I don’t know if I have one – just many great moments.
How did you get into your profession?
Kind of fell into it after a lifelong interest in the outdoors and consuming related content and information, I decided to start giving back with some information of my own.
What is the best piece of advice you've ever received?
Some general sentiment of “Don’t waste your life” has probably driven me to want to lead a more interesting life than the norm.
What are your top three Pelican products?
Various Pelican Cargo Cases because they are relatively lightweight, well-sized and easily mountable to my adventure rigs. Pelican Air 1535 and 1507 in orange are my main rides for lugging around my camera gear – because they work well and are more easily identifiable in that colorway. All the rifle cases in OD green, because they are a staple and classic, and honestly how I first started using Pelican products.
