As Pelican is a US-based company, we take pride in our roots and the hardworking individuals that make our products great. That being said, we would like to remind all of our fans to take the upcoming Memorial Day holiday to reflect and commemorate the men and women who have, and continue to, fight for freedom in this country.

To celebrate and honor those heroic individuals, take part in Memorial Day celebrations across the United States. Here are a few suggestions:

Chicago – Chicago offers more than 30 war memorials, a Memorial Day Parade, and the Fleet Feet Sports Soldier 10 Mile, a 10-mile race in which runners start outside of Soldier Field, and travel along the southern portion of Chicago’s beautiful lakefront.

Washington D.C – Our Nation’s Capital has a vast amount of celebrations taking place this weekend including “Rolling Thunder,” a motorcycle rally that has approximately 900,000 participants, the National Memorial Day Parade and several memorial monuments.

Hawaii – The 14th Annual Lantern Floating Hawaii Ceremony, one of the most unique events for Memorial Day, is hosted in Ala Moana Beach Park. Participants release 3,000 candle-lit lanterns bearing individual and community remembrances and prayers into the ocean to honor those fallen.

If you’re looking to events a bit closer to home, we suggest visiting a local state park (some offering free admission for Monday’s holiday), or asking your local Convention and Visitor’s Bureau for events near you.

From all of us at Pelican Products, have a fun and safe Memorial Day!
